§ 10  APPOINTMENT AND COMPENSATION OF TOWN OFFICERS AND POLICEMEN; COMPENSATION OF MAYOR AND BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS.
   (A)   The Commissioners may appoint a Town Constable, who shall be Chief of Police, and Tax Collector, and such other officers, servants, agents and policemen as may be necessary for the good government of the town, all of whom shall hold their office at the will of the Commissioners; they may determine the amount of compensation to be paid them, define their duties, impose oaths of office, require bonds in proper penalties, payable to the state, fix the compensation of the Mayor and all other officers.
   (B)   The Board of Commissioners is authorized, in its discretion, to fix the salary for the Mayor of the Town of Scotland Neck, not to exceed seventy-five dollars per month.
   (C)   The Board of Commissioners is authorized, in its discretion, to fix the compensation per meeting for members of the Board of Commissioners; provided, such compensation shall not exceed one hundred twenty dollars per member per year.
