§ 8  MALE RESIDENTS MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK ON TOWN STREETS; TAX IN LIEU OF WORK.
   All male persons resident in said town between the ages of 18 and 45 may be required to work on the streets of said town three days in each year, or pay the sum of two dollars in lieu thereof, except such persons as are exempt from road duty under the general law.
