§ 71.22 UNAUTHORIZED USE OF PARKING PLACES RESERVED FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   It shall be prohibited to park any motor vehicle which is not bearing registration plates or decals issued to a handicapped person, as defined by state motor vehicle code ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, §§ 1-159.1, 3-616, or 11-1301.2 or to a disabled veteran, pursuant to ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, § 3-609 of the code, as evidence the vehicle is operated by or for a handicapped person or disabled veteran, in any parking place, including any private or public off- street parking facility, specifically reserved by the posting of an official sign as designated under ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5 § 11-301 of the code, for motor vehicles bearing such registration plates.
   (B)   Any person or local authority owning or operating any public or private off-street parking facility may, after notifying the Village Police Department or Cook County Sheriff's Department, remove or cause to be removed to the nearest garage or other place of safety any vehicle parked within a stall or place reserved for use by the handicapped which does not display handicapped registration plates or a special decal or device as required under the provisions of the state motor vehicle code.
