§ 150.230 PERMITS, GENERALLY.
   (A)   Required. No electrical equipment shall be installed or altered except upon a permit first issued by the Electrical Inspector authorizing the installation, alteration or repair of electrical equipment.
   (B)   Application. Permits for the installation, alteration and use of electrical equipment shall be issued only upon receipt of an application, made out on a printed form to be furnished by the Electrical Inspector and submitted to the Building Department, and upon the payment of the fee, in advance, as provided in this chapter. The application for each such permit shall contain the name of the owner or user of the electrical equipment to be installed, altered or used, and the location by street and number and a detailed description of the same.
   (C)   Issuance. The Electrical Inspector shall issue permits for such installation and alteration of electrical equipment in all cases where application for the permit shall be made in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable thereto; provided, no permit shall be issued for the installing or altering by contract of electrical equipment unless the person applying for the permit is registered as an electrical contractor, or the property owner and further provided the inspection fee as provided for in this chapter shall have been paid in advance upon filing the application.
   (D)   Penalty for failing to obtain permit. Where an electrical installation has been started prior to the issuance of a permit for such work, the normal permit fee as required by this code shall be doubled and where a registered electrical contractor is found doing electrical work without a permit on three separate occasions in one calendar year, a hearing shall be held by the Bureau of Electrical Inspection at which time the permit privileges of the electrical contractor may be suspended for a period of time not to exceed one year.
