§ 150.221 AMENDMENTS; DELETIONS; ADDITIONS.
   The National Electrical Code, 2005 Edition, adopted, herein is amended in the following respects;
   (1)   The words "the Village of Schiller Park" shall be inserted wherever reference is made to "jurisdiction", "enforcement", and/or the "Authority having jurisdiction".
   (2)   Section 90.4 is amended to add the following text at the end of the Section:
      "This Code shall be enforced and administered by the Village Building Official and/or the Director of Community Development of the Village of Schiller Park (including their authorized agents and representatives, e,g. Electrical Inspector)."
   (3)   Section 230 Services. Delete all references to overhead Electrical Services. Add new Section 230.1 (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E), including the exceptions, as follows:
      A.   All new commercial/industrial structures are required to have electrical service installed underground.
      B.   Existing commercial/industrial properties remodeling more than fifty percent (50%) and upgrading electric shall be required to underground their electric connections.
      C.   Existing commercial/industrial properties upgrading or replacing the main service panel will be required to have the new service installed underground.
      D.   Exceptions to Mandatory Under-grounding:
         1.   Services damaged by nature may be reinstalled as originally installed.
         2.   Services deemed unfeasible by the utility company will not be required to be undergrounded.
      E.   All new electric service shall be of copper wire only.
   (4)   Section 230 is amended hereby to include an additional section, Section 230.63, which shall read as follows:
      "230.63. Residential services shall be grounded to the Village water service at the street side of the incoming line, with the wire long enough to jumper around the meter, with one (1) "Chapter 86" tag installed. A bonding jumper at the water heater is to be installed on the HOT, Cold & Gas pipes with one (1) "chapter 86" tag installed.
   (5)   Section 324, entitled "Flat Conductor Cable Type: FCC", is deleted in its entirety hereby.
   (6)   Section 334, entitled "Nonmetallic-Sheathed Cable: NM, NMC and NMS" is deleted in its entirety hereby.( Romex)
   (7)   Section 338, entitled "Service-Entrance Cable: Types SE and USE", is deleted in its entirety hereby.
   (8)   Section 340, entitled "Underground Feeder and Branch-Circuit Cable: Type UF", is deleted in its entirety hereby.
   (9)   Section 362, entitled "Electrical Nonmetallic Tubing Type ENT", is deleted hereby in its entirety.
   (10)   Section 394, entitled "Concealed Knob-and-Tube Wiring", is deleted hereby in its entirety.
   (11)   Section 404 is amended hereby to include an additional section, Section 404.4.1, entitled "Switch Location", which shall read as follows:
      "404.4.1 Switch location. Bathroom switches and fixtures to be at minimum 30 inches from the water's edge for tubs, showers and whirlpools."
   (12)   Subsection (D) of Section 410.8 is amended hereby in its entirety; so that hereafter subsection (D) of Section 410.8 shall read as follows:
      "(D)   Location. Luminaires (lighting fixtures) in clothes closets shall be permitted to be installed as follows:
         (1)   All closet lights shall be recessed or surface mounted fluorescent or recessed incandescent. All closets over 49 square feet shall have a luminaire and receptacle.
         (2)   Recessed incandescent luminaires (lighting fixtures) with a completely enclosed lamp installed in the wall or the ceiling, provided there is a minimum clearance of 150 mm (6 in.) between the luminaire (lighting fixture) and the nearest point of a storage space.
         (3)   Recessed fluorescent luminaires (lighting fixtures) installed in the wall or the ceiling, provided there is a minimum clearance of 150 mm (6 in.) between the luminaire (lighting fixture) and the nearest point of storage space."
   (13)   Subsection (B) of Section 680.22 is amended to add a new paragraph, paragraph (6); so that hereafter subsection (B) of Section 680.22 shall include paragraph (6) which shall read as follows:
         "(6)   All swimming pool lights to be a maximum 15 volts to ground with a pool listed transformer."
   (14)   Delete in its entirety - Article 604 Manufactured wiring systems
   (15)   Delete in its entirety - Article 605 Office Furnishings (Consisting of Lighting accessories and wired partitions).
   (16)   Section 700 is amended hereby to include an additional Section 700.9 (1), which shall read, as follows:
      "700.9(1) In new and remodeled commercial/industrial buildings, the emergency light and exit signs are required to be part of the Emergency System: piped
   separately; separate circuits; lockouts in the panel; junction boxes marked as EM circuits."
