(A) Where sanitary sewer service is furnished to single family residences located within the corporate limits of the Village in addition to water service, there shall be a sewer charge to the customer in the amount of $1.39 per 1,000 gallons of water or fraction thereof, provided that there shall be a 10% late fee on any sewer bill paid after the due date indicated upon the statement.
(B) Where sanitary sewer service is furnished to multi- family dwellings, and commercial and industrial buildings located within the corporate limits of the Village in addition to water service, there shall be a sewer charge to the customer in the amount of $1.68 per 1,000 gallons of water or fraction thereof, provided that there shall be a 10% late fee on any sewer bill paid after the due date indicated upon the statement.
(C) Where sanitary sewer service is furnished to premises located outside of the corporate limits of the Village in addition to water service, there shall be a sewer charge to the customer in the amount of $1.68 per 1,000 gallons of water or fraction thereof, provided that there shall be a 10% late fee on any sewer bill paid after the due date indicated upon the statement.
(D) Minimum Charges:
(1) Single family residences: The minimum sewer bill for each customer shall be $8.35 bimonthly.
(2) Multi-family dwellings and commercial and industrial buildings: The minimum sewer bill for each customer shall be $10.08 per month.
(3) Premises located outside of the corporate limits of the Village: The minimum sewer bill for each customer shall be $10.08 bimonthly.
(4) The minimum charge set forth in paragraph (3) above shall not apply to an individual bill for a specific single-family dwelling in the following circumstances: 1) a customer who has attained the age of sixty-two (62) years old and owns or leases and occupies the single-family dwelling as his or her principal residence, or 2) a customer is receiving a Cook County Senior Citizen Exemption for the single-family dwelling. The sewer bill for such a customer shall be based upon the amount of actual water service for the premises as shown by the water meter during the respective billing period. To be eligible for the reduced herein fee set forth, a customer shall provide each year documentation to demonstrate that the customer meets the eligibility criteria set forth above, which may include, but not be limited to, a deed to the single-family dwelling; a lease for the single-family dwelling; documents that would prove the customer's principal residence and age such as the real estate tax bill for the single-family dwelling, a voter's registration card, a Driver's License, an Illinois Identification Card, an Alien Registration Card, Social Security Form 2458, Naturalization Papers, or a Birth Certificate; or proof of the most recent second-installment real estate tax bill for the single-family dwelling or such other documentation that serves to demonstrate the single-family dwelling's eligibility for a Cook County Senior Citizen Exemption. The Village Manager/Comptroller is authorized to establish additional eligibility criteria and rules for said reduced fee. In the event a customer no longer qualifies for the reduced fee, the customer shall notify the Village within thirty (30) days of becoming aware of such ineligibility. If the Village determines that the reduced fee was approved under false pretenses or a customer fails to notify the Village of a change in eligibility within the required timeframe, the customer may be liable for any previously waived charges as well as any applicable penalties or fines.
