§ 53.02 TAMPERING WITH VILLAGE EQUIPMENT AND UNAUTHORIZED SERVICE FORBIDDEN.
   (A)   Other than the Director or his agent or a person authorized by the Village President of the Village, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, to turn "on" any Village water supply valve, thereby rendering potable water service to any premises.
   (B)   Exclusive of authorized personnel of the Village, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to tamper with, alter, deface, destroy, mar or injure, or otherwise damage any part of the Village system, or any water meter, remote meter reading device, meter interface unit, modular jack connection, wiring, and/or register. In addition to liability for payment of the fine or other penalty ordered by a court of law upon a finding of guilty, such person, firm or corporation shall be responsible for payment of the costs of repair or replacement necessitated by such tampering, defacing, destruction, marring or injury, or other damage.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to cause water service to any premises to be diverted around the meter located on the premises or in any other manner conceal the amount of water service to any premises or intentionally break any water meter.
   (D)   It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to block or interfere in any way with the radio signal emanating from the meter transmission unit transmitting register readings to the Village and/or its agent.
