§ 33.04 UNIFORMS OF SWORN POLICE OFFICERS AND EQUIPMENT.
   Identification symbols worn by Auxiliary Police Officers shall be different and distinct from those used by the members of the Classified Service of the Police Department and shall be chosen by the Chief of Police. In addition, Auxiliary Police Officers shall not carry firearms unless they have completed a 40-Hour Mandatory Firearms Training Course as specified in ILCS Ch. 50, Act 710, § 2, and then any given Auxiliary Police Officer may carry a firearm only when in uniform and in the performance of his duty, provided the Chief of Police has first given his permission to such Auxiliary Police Officer to carry a firearm.
