The Building Inspector, or another person as may be authorized by the Village President and Board of Trustees, may order work stopped when any con- struction, alteration or repair work is being done in violation of any provision of this chapter. The stop order, when oral, shall be followed by a written stop order within 24 hours. It shall be unlawful to continue work in violation of a stop order until that order has been revoked by the person issuing it or by the President and Board.
