(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to own or operate a taxicab service within the corporate limits of the Village of Schiller Park without having first obtained a Taxicab License from the Village. Each Taxicab License shall specify the maximum number of taxicabs that may be operated by the taxicab service holding a Taxicab License. In addition, the maximum number of Taxicab Licenses shall be five (5).
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to own or operate a livery service within the corporate limits of the Village without having first obtained a livery operator's license from the Village.
(C) No person shall solicit passengers for hire or accept passengers for transportation within the Village boundaries, unless:
(1) He is, or is employed by, a licensee;
(2) The vehicle bears a valid public passenger vehicle authorization; and
(3) He holds a valid chauffeur's ID card.
(D) The provisions of this chapter shall not prevent taxicabs or livery vehicles licensed by other municipalities from entering the Village for the purpose of depositing passengers who were legally picked up outside the Village.
(E) All licenses, public passenger vehicle authorizations, and chauffeur ID cards provided for under this chapter shall be valid only for the license year for which or during which the license and card is issued.
