Upon discovering the existence of an abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or inoperative vehicle or parts thereof on private property or public property within the city, the Chief of Police shall have the authority to cause the abatement and removal thereof in accordance with the procedure prescribed herein. The Chief of Police may also cause the abatement and removal from private property pursuant to the provisions of Cal. Veh. Code § 22658. Pursuant to the provisions of Cal. Veh. Code § 22658(a), the sign required by that subsection shall be 24 inches in width and 18 inches in height.
