§ 32.092 SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS.
Temporary, seasonal and emergency appointments are defined as being limited to a definite period of time generally for not more than six consecutive months. Appointments, such as summer help, may be made by the elected officials and department heads and coordinated through the Human Resource Department to carry out necessary seasonal work. Temporary employees, whether full-time or part-time, shall not qualify for regular employee benefits (except that mandatory benefits shall be provided as prescribed by law, e.g., Social Security, workers compensation). Temporary employment does not count as credit toward the completion of an orientation period if hired into a permanent position.
