(a) When water service pipes are installed, extended, replaced, or repaired, all work shall be done in conformity with this Code, and water service shall not be furnished or restored until the work has been inspected, tested, and found to be in compliance by the administrative authority. When found by him to be in compliance, the administrative authority shall notify the Divisions of Filtration and Distribution that the meter may be set, if necessary, and the water service turned on.
(b) No private water distribution system shall be connected to or remain connected to the municipal water distribution system, when found by the administrative authority not to be in conformity with the requirements of this Plumbing Code. The administrative authority, when he has determined that a private water distribution system is installed or maintained contrary to the provisions of this Plumbing Code, may order the water service turned off, or may cause the private water distribution system, or the part not in compliance, to be disconnected from the municipal water distribution system.
