(a) No person shall engage in or work at the trade occupation of plumbing for hire in the City until he or she shall have procured a license therefor in accordance with the provisions of this Plumbing Code.
(b) Plumber licenses issued by the City shall be for 2 types:
(1) Journeyman plumber. A journeyman plumber's license shall authorize the licensee to engage in or work at the trade, or supervise the trade or occupation of plumbing in the City, but the licensee shall not contract or carry out a contract for the construction, installation, repairing, or altering of any plumbing, or furnish plumbing material therefor, within the City, or represent or advertise himself, either publicly or privately, as being ready, willing, or able to contract this work, or furnish material within the limits of the City.
(2) Apprentice plumber. An apprentice plumber's license shall authorize the licensee to engage in or work at the trade or occupation of plumbing in the City as an assistant to and under the direction and supervision of a licensed journeyman plumber.
