(a) Wherever existing plumbing, gas fitting, piping, or drainage work shall be found by the administrative authority to be detrimental to the health of the occupants of the building or to the public, he shall declare the work to be a nuisance, and condemn it in accordance with the applicable provisions of this Plumbing Code, ordering that the installation be caused to meet the minimum requirements of this Plumbing Code or be removed.
(b) Where it is found by the administrative authority that an appliance or appliance installation is faulty, or not in compliance with the requirements of this Plumbing Code, or in the case of a gas appliance that is faulty or not in compliance with the standards as defined in the current edition of "American Standard," "Installation of Gas Appliances," and "Gas Piping" - NFPA #54-1978, or its revisions and amendments, the administrative authority shall order that the appliance or appliance installation be brought into compliance with these requirements, or be disconnected and removed.
