6-1-4-1: PROHIBITED PARKING:
   A.   Idling Motor Vehicle: No driver of a motor vehicle shall leave the vehicle unattended upon any street or public place while running and unsecured.
   B.   Double Parking: Double parking shall not be permitted on any of the streets within the City unless the vehicle qualifies for an exemption.
   C.   Parking On Curbing: No vehicle shall be parked or stand on the sidewalk or on any portion of the curbing along any of the streets of the City.
   D.   Commercial Vehicle: No commercial vehicle over twenty-two feet (22') in length shall be parked overnight on a street in any residentially zoned area of the City.
   E.   All Night Parking: It shall be unlawful to park a vehicle between the hours of two o'clock (2:00) A.M. and six o'clock (6:00) A.M. of any day on a street or highway in areas where overnight parking is prohibited. A map of the Downtown Limited Parking Zone may be obtained from City Hall or on the City's website.
   F.   Parking Of Trucks In Downtown Limited Parking Zone: Parking of trucks longer than twenty two feet (22') and/or truck trailers is hereby prohibited on streets or public parking areas within the Downtown Limited Parking Zone. Recreational vehicles are not included in this limitation and may legally park within the Downtown Limited Parking Zone.
   G.   Downtown Parking Limit: The area designated as the "Downtown Limited Parking Zone" is regulated by two (2), three (3) and four (4) hour parking limits on the streets and a twenty-four (24) hour limit within the City parking lots, unless posted otherwise. Monthly parking permits may be purchased at Sandpoint City Hall or online at the City's website.
   H.   Winter Parking Limit: Winter parking restrictions are in effect December 1 through March 1. Parking on the street is limited to only the even side of the street, unless posted otherwise. The even side of the street is defined by the even numbered addresses. Where signed or delineated by markings, parking on the street is prohibited on either side of any street designated as an "Emergency Snow Routes," as established by resolution of the City Council. All vehicles parked on the street shall be cleared from snow within 24-hours of a snow event.
   I.   Cul-de-sac Parking Limit: Cul-de-sac is a short local street having but one end open for vehicular traffic, the opposite end being terminated with a permanent turn-around. Parking on the street is prohibited within the turn-around of a cul-de-sac, as posted. The turn-around begins and ends on either side of the radius. (Ord. 1352, 6-6-2018; amd. Ord. 1398, 10-12-2022)
