3.55.080 Hotel registration
Within thirty days after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this Chapter, or within thirty days after commencing business, whichever is later, each operator of a hotel providing lodging space to transients shall register such hotel with the Department of Finance and Management Services. Upon registration, the Department of Finance and Management Services shall issue the operator a "Transient Lodging Registration Certificate" that at a minimum states the following:
   A.   The name of the operator.
   B.   The address of the hotel.
   C.   The issuance date of the certificate.
   D.   This Transient Lodging Registration Certificate signifies that the person named on the face thereof has fulfilled the requirements of the Transient Lodging Tax Ordinance by registering with the Department of Finance and Management Services for the purpose of collecting from transients the Transient Lodging Tax and remitting said tax to the Department of Finance and Management Services. This certificate does not authorize any person to conduct any unlawful business or to conduct any lawful business in an unlawful manner, nor to operate a hotel without strictly complying with all local applicable laws, including but not limited to those requiring a permit from any board, commission, department or office of this City. This certificate does not constitute a permit.
Each operator shall at all times conspicuously post its Transient Lodging Certificate on the premises of its hotel.
