(A) The Board of Supervisors of the county creates the position of county’s Administrative Officer, who shall be qualified and perform in accordance with the terms of this section and §§ 3.01.091 and 3.01.092. The county’s Administrative Officer shall be recognized and function as the chief administrative officer. He or she shall generally advise, assist and act as agent for the Board of Supervisors, and be responsible to the Board for the proper and efficient administration of such affairs of the county that are placed in his or her charge by the Board, and shall enforce ordinances, orders and regulations as directed by the Board.
(B) The county’s Administrative Officer shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of, the Board of Supervisors. Salary and benefits shall be reviewed and established annually by the Board, based upon performance evaluation and other criteria.
