(A) On payment of the license fee required by this chapter, a license certificate and a metallic tag shall be issued to the owner of each dog so licensed. The number on the tag shall correspond to the number on the certificate issued, and, in case of loss or destruction of the tag, a duplicate shall be issued upon presentation of a receipt or certificate showing the payment of the license fee for the current license term and the payment of a $2 fee for each such duplicate.
(B) Tags shall not be transferable from one dog to another and no refunds shall be made on any license fee because of the death of the dog or the owner's leaving the county prior to the expiration of the license term. Every owner shall provide each dog with a collar to which the tag shall be affixed and shall see that the collar and tag are constantly worn. (HMC § 6.08.150)
