Every supplied piece of mechanical equipment, including food preparation, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, or other energy-consuming, heat-producing equipment and all piping, venting, and electrical connections thereto, shall be installed in accordance with the Building Code of the city, the Mechanical Code of the city, and all other applicable laws and ordinances of the city and the state, and shall be maintained in a safe and satisfactory working condition. Unaltered existing mechanical installations which conformed to the applicable laws in effect at the time of installation may continue in use, provided that they are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner, comply with § 151.046, and are not dangerous to life, health, safety, or the public welfare.
