§ 52.56 WATER CONNECTIONS.
   (A)   Water connections to the Saginaw Branch Line shall only be installed by the city. Connections may be sold to individual consumers or organized groups of consumers at prices to be determined by the Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance and Service for each individual location. The price of a connection shall include the cost of the branch service connection to the supply main, the corporation stop or valve, the required copper, brass fittings, the curb stop, service box (only if the water extension is over 100 feet or longer in length), meter pit with accessories, and the equipment and labor cost of installing the above items. Connections shall be installed upon the prepayment of the estimated cost of construction, or the owner of record may request that the city incur the initial cost and that such amount be a lien assessed against the property and collected as provided in § 33.21. A written permit from the City Engineer must be obtained.
   (B)   Permission to construct a water extension shall be implied with the purchase of each connection. A written permit from the City Engineer must be obtained.
   (C)   Failure to obtain the permit shall result in the permit fee being doubled.
   (D)   Failure to obtain the required inspection for approval of the work shall result in a fine, approved by City Council and available in the Engineering Office.
