The public welfare necessitates an area or zone of special historical or cultural interest or value be established in this city. Pursuant to the authority conferred by Section 37361 of the Government Code of the state as enacted by Chapter 2015, Statutes of 1959, the city council designates the following described area as "Old Sacramento":
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly city limits of the city and the projection of the center line of I Street; thence easterly along said projection of the center line and along the center line of I Street to the intersection of the center line of Third Street; thence southerly along the center line of Third Street to the intersection of the center line of Capitol Avenue; thence westerly along the center line of Capitol Avenue to its intersection with the westerly city limits of the city; thence northerly along such city limits to the place of beginning.
Whenever the term "Old Sacramento" is used in this code, it shall mean the area hereinabove described. (Prior code § 1.01.100)
