Except as otherwise provided in Section 2.124.730 of this chapter and former (1989) Charter Section 421, upon a member's reentry into the retirement system at reinstatement from disability retirement or upon his or her reentry into city service following his or her election under the applicable provisions of Articles II, III, IV, V, and VI or Article XVII of the City Charter to allow his or her accumulated contributions to remain in the retirement system, his or her normal rate of contribution shall be based upon an age determined by adding the number of completed years of his or her absence from city service to the age upon which his or her normal rate of contribution, as it was prior to such retirement or election, as the case may be, was based. Upon reentry into city service, and redeposit of withdrawn accumulated contributions, the member's normal rate of contributions shall be determined in accordance with Section 2.124.1930 of this chapter.
