A. The following shall be exempted from payment of the fees established by this chapter:
1. Alterations, renovations, or expansion of an existing residential building or structure where no additional dwelling units are created and the use is not changed; provided, however, that the expansion or intensification of use of an existing commercial or industrial building or structure shall not be exempt from the fees established in this chapter. For purposes of this section, "expansion or intensification of uses" means any increase in the anticipated parking and/or traffic impacts associated with the proposed new use.
2. The replacement of a destroyed or partially destroyed or damaged building or structure with a new building or structure of the same size and use.
B. Any claim of exemption with respect to the fees established by this chapter must be made no later than the time for application for fee adjustment pursuant to Section 18.24.160 of this chapter. (Prior code § 84.02.206)
