2.124.1000 Member contributions.

   A.   The contribution rate for each member of this plan, excluding the contribution rate for cost-of-living benefits pursuant to City Charter Section 379 and Section 2.124.1690 of this chapter shall be:

   B.   There shall be deducted from each payment of compensation made to a member of this plan a sum equal to the applicable rate based upon his or her age at entry into the system as specified above multiplied by the amount of such compensation. The sum so deducted shall forthwith be paid to the retirement system and shall be credited to the individual account of the member. Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the above amounts together with interest credited thereon, and any amounts transferred pursuant to former (1989) Charter Section 402, shall be applied to provide the annuity portion of the benefits under this plan.
