Each sign shall be maintained in a safe, presentable and good condition, including the replacement of defective parts, painting, repainting, cleaning, and other acts required for the maintenance of such sign. The director of building inspections shall require compliance or removal of any sign determined by the director to be in violation of this section in accordance with the provisions of Article X of this chapter.
