A. The Commission consists of 12 members who shall be appointed as follows:
1. One member shall be recommended for appointment by each councilmember.
2. Three members shall be recommended for appointment by the mayor.
3. One member shall be recommended for appointment by the Personnel and Public Employees Committee pursuant to article I of chapter 2.40. This member must be between the ages of 14 and 22 years at the time of appointment.
B. Pursuant to section 230 of the charter, after receiving recommendations from the councilmembers and the Personnel and Public Employees Committee, the mayor shall appoint all members of the Commission, subject to concurrence of a majority of the city council.
C. Qualifications:
1. Members shall live in the City of Sacramento.
2. Members shall possess a basic understanding of the commission's activities.
3. Members shall have a demonstrated history of community involve mentor interest in fostering of the arts, innovation, or tourism of the city.
4. Members shall have past or current experience as an educator, supporter, advocate, administrator, curator, historian, or critic of the arts.
5. No current elected officer or employee of the city shall be appointed to the commission. (Ord. 2021-0005 § 2; Ord. 2019-0028 § 2)
