A. The commission shall consist of nine members who shall be appointed as follows:
1. Five members to be appointed by the board of supervisors;
2. Three members to be appointed by the mayor of Sacramento with the approval of the Sacramento city council;
3. One member appointed jointly by the cities of Folsom, Isleton and Galt.
B. Members may be removed by the appointing authority at any time and shall serve at the pleasure of the respective appointing authority.
C. In appointing members to the commission, the appointing authorities shall strive to provide for appoint ment of members from the following vocational disciplines or areas of interest or experience:
Health services profession, legal services profession, industry, engineering, transportation planning, environmental group, toxics/hazardous materials, environmental health, industrial hygiene, water quality, waste disposal, land use planning, vector control, chemical reuse/recycling and the general public, and such other disciplines or area of interest and experience as may be recommended by the commission.
D. When vacancies occur, the commission shall recommend to the appointing authority, the disciplines to be appointed, and shall provide, advise and comment with regard to qualifications of applicants for the vacant positions.
E. Elected officials and full-time salaried employees of the Sacramento County board of supervisors, city councils, special districts, or the regulatory agencies of Sacramento County shall not be eligible for membership on the commission.
F. All appointees to the commission shall be required to file statements disclosing financial interests pursuant to a conflict of interest code adopted for the commission. (Prior code § 60.17.153)
