5.80.220   Records.
   A.   All pawnbrokers who receive in pawn, trade, purchase or on consignment, or any secondhand dealer or junk dealer shall, at the time of receiving, purchasing or taking in trade, or receiving on consignment any article, place the description of the article upon a form which he or she shall provide and which shall be approved by the chief of police. The form shall provide for the description of the article as well as the person selling, trading, pawning or consigning the article or merchandise. The pawnbroker, secondhand dealer or junk dealer shall fill in the blanks on the form provided for such information at the time each transaction is made. Each form shall be consecutively numbered. All information shall be legible and in English.
   B.   Such forms shall be retained for a period of three years. Copies of all loans and purchases made by any pawnbroker, secondhand dealer or junk dealer shall be retained for a period of three years. (Prior code § 28.03.034)
