The term of the initial CATV franchise shall be twenty (20) years from the date of filing of the certificate of acceptance pursuant to the provisions of Section 5.28.440 of this chapter. The term of any franchise issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter other than the initial CATV franchise shall be as prescribed by the board of directors of the cable television commission in its sole discretion, and set forth in the request for proposals; provided that no such franchise shall expire later than December 31, 2007.
