5.28.280   Resignation of members of board of directors.
   Any member of the board of directors may resign by giving written notice filed with the clerk of the board of directors.
   If the resigning member is a member of the governing body of the county, the successor to that member shall be selected by and shall serve at the pleasure of the governing body of the county. Said successor need not be a member of the governing body of the county.
   If the resigning member is a member of the governing body of the city of Sacramento, the successor to that member shall be selected by and serve at the pleasure of the governing body of the city of Sacramento. Said successor need not be a member of the governing body of the city of Sacramento if no member of said governing body is willing to serve on the board of directors.
   If the resigning member is a member of the governing body of one of the member cities whose population is less than eighty thousand (80,000), the successor to that member shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governing bodies of the cities represented by this member. Said successor need not be a member of the governing bodies of one of these cities if no member of the governing bodies is willing to serve on the board of directors.
   If the resigning member is a member of the governing body of a member city whose population is equal to or greater than eighty thousand (80,000), the successor to that member shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governing body of the city represented by this member. Said successor need not be a member of the governing body of this city if no member of the governing body is willing to serve on the board of directors. (Ord. 97-075 § 6; prior code § 20.02.105)
