2-5-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
PEDDLER: Any person with no fixed place of business, not including newspeople, who go from house to house, carrying or transporting goods, wares or merchandise and offering or exposing such merchandise for sale or making sales and deliveries to purchasers of such merchandise.
SOLICITOR: Any person who goes from house to house, soliciting or taking or attempting to take orders for the purchase of any goods, wares or merchandise, including magazines, books, periodicals or personal property of any nature, for delivery in the future.
TEMPORARY SALE: A sale conducted for a period of sixty (60) consecutive days or less on a sidewalk, parking lot or open space by merchants who occupy principal buildings adjacent to the area to be utilized for a temporary sale.
VENDOR: Any person who makes sales of goods, wares or merchandise from a stand or vehicle located upon public property or a street right of way. (2005 Code)
