(A) The city shall provide a collection containers site for the deposit of heavy trash. The site shall be located at 230 South Smiley Avenue, Rushville, Indiana. Its hours of operation shall be set by the Rushville City Code Compliance Officer.
(B) All heavy trash shall be transported to the collection containers site in a timely manner. Transportation shall be the responsibility of the resident.
(C) A disposal fee shall be charged pursuant to a price schedule to be adopted by the City Council. All fees are due at the time of disposal.
(D) No hazardous materials will be accepted. The term HAZARDOUS MATERIALS includes, but is not limited to: paint, varnish, wood finish, used oil or grease products, household chemical cleaners, batteries, televisions, radios, and any appliances that use freon gas in order for general operation. The only exception pursuant to this section is that city residents may pay to have refrigerators, freezers, televisions, and computer monitors picked up by the city for a fee per the City Solid Waste Fee Schedule. Residents must schedule a pick-up time with the City Sanitation/Street Department and must pay for the pick-up service, in accordance with § 51.19(E), prior to scheduling this service. The item(s) to be picked up by the city may not be placed outside for pick-up until 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up date.
(E) Disposal will be limited to city residents only.
(F) Yard waste may be disposed of at no charge.
(G) Residents who allow heavy trash items to accumulate on porches, yards, alleys or other areas shall be considered noncompliant with the provisions of this subchapter.
