(A) No person shall operate or use a motorized vehicle on the walking trail, including, but not limited to, motorized bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, all-terrain vehicles, and mowers. This section shall not prohibit the use of motorized wheelchairs or other medically necessary devices.
(B) No person shall operate a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, roller blades, battery-operated child’s play vehicle, or other non-motorized vehicle or device on the walking trail in a manner that creates a risk of harm to that person or any other person, in a manner that interferes or obstructs any other person’s use or enjoyment of the walking trail, or in a manner that creates a risk of damage or inflicts damage to the walking trail or property of any other person or entity.
(C) Any person operating a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, roller blades, battery-operated child’s play vehicle, or other non-motorized vehicle pursuant to division (B) above shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian on the walking trail and shall give an audible signal a reasonable time before overtaking or passing such pedestrian.
(D) Law enforcement officers and town employees shall be excluded from the restrictions set forth in divisions (A) through (C) above during the performance of their normal maintenance, upkeep, and duties.
