SCHEDULE I. USE OF STREETS BY TRUCKS OF CERTAIN WEIGHT RESTRICTED; PERMIT.
   It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to drive or cause to be driven any truck, motor vehicle, or other apparatus that weighs in excess of 20,000 pounds, whether loaded or unloaded, upon any street, drive, or alleyway within the corporate limits of the town. Provided, however, this shall not apply to Center Street (U.S. Highway 117 to Walnut Street), Charity Road, East Church Street (Bay Street to Railroad Street), East Railroad Street, East South Street (Charity Road to Marshall Street), First Street, Main Street (Railroad Street to Mallard Street), Mallard Street, Marshall Street, Oak Street (Charity Road to South Street), Ridge Street, South Bay Street (Church Street to Charity Road), South Street (Oak Street to U.S. Highway 117), U.S. Highway 117, Walnut Street, West Railroad Street, and West South Street or any other street maintained by the State Department of Transportation. Provided further, that this schedule shall not apply to any vehicle used by or in connection with the repair or maintenance of any of the streets, water or sewage systems, or garbage collection performed by or on behalf of the town, or any fire protection apparatus. Provided further, that in the event a special need is shown therefor, the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to issue a special permit for use only on the day designated in the permit.
