§ 70.999 PENALTY.
   (A)   Generally. If any person shall violate an ordinance regulating the operation or parking of vehicles, he or she shall be responsible for an infraction and shall be required to pay a penalty of not more than $50.

   (B)   Sections 70.070 through 70.077.
      (1)   Violation of the provisions of §§ 70.070 through 70.077 shall be an infraction, the maximum penalty for which shall be $50. Notwithstanding the foregoing, persons who, while driving golf carts on public streets within the town, violate the "rules of the road" applicable to motor vehicles generally (as set forth in G.S. Ch. 20, Part 10) shall be subject to the same penalties applicable to the operators of the other motor vehicles.
      (2)   More than one violation of any of the provisions of §§ 70.070 through 70.077 within the same registration year as defined in § 70.072 may also result in the revocation of the golf cart registration that is assigned to that golf cart owner.
      (3)   All provisions enumerated in this division (B) may be enforced through the authority granted in G.S. § 160A-175. The town may also, in addition, seek any and all appropriate equitable remedies, injunctions, and/or abatement orders from the appropriate court of competent jurisdiction.
