§ 33.081  ELIGIBILITY.
   An applicant for original appointment as part-time police officer must meet the following prerequisites prior to being considered for appointment as a part-time police officer.
   (A)   Be a citizen of the United States of America;
   (B)   Be not less than 21 years of age, except as otherwise provided by law, or be 20 years of age and have successfully completed 2 years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university. Applicants may not be appointed until 21 years of age;
   (C)   Be a graduate of, or have a certificate of equivalence from an accredited secondary school.  A copy of the diploma or certificate is required;
   (D)   Process a valid driver’s license;
   (E)   Submit to fingerprinting;
   (F)   Not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude;
   (G)   Any individual who has served in the U.S. military must have been honorably discharged;

   (H)   Pass a physical examination by a doctor of the Board of Trustees’ choice if so requested, examination fee to be paid for by the Village.  An applicant must also have 20/20 vision in each eye or vision correctable to 20/20 in each eye.
