§ 150.15  BUILDING VIOLATIONS.
   (A)   Generally.  It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, improve, remove, convert, demolish, equip, use, occupy, or maintain any building or structure, or cause the same to be done contrary to or in violation of any provision of this chapter or any approved plan or directive of the Building Official or any permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this chapter or any stop-work order, except such work as he or she is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition.
   (B)   Abatement. The imposition of a penalty for the violation of this chapter shall not preclude the state’s attorney from instituting appropriate action to prevent unlawful construction or to restrain, correct, or abate a violation or to prevent illegal occupancy of a building, structure, or premises or to stop an illegal act, conduct, business, or use of a building or structure in or about any premises.
