For the purposes of § 131.34, a delinquent child is any boy who before his seventeenth birthday or girl who before her eighteenth birthday has violated or attempted to violate any federal or state law or municipal ordinance, and also any person under 21 years of age who has violated a lawful court order made under the Juvenile Court Act, ILCS Ch. 705.
