§ 1-4-94 FIRE CHIEF.
   (A)   Appointment. The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council. He or she shall hold office for a term stated in his or her appointment or as provided by the code, or unless sooner removed by the Mayor with the concurrence of the Council.

   (B)   Duties. The Chief of the Fire Department shall have sole command and control over all persons connected with the Fire Department and shall possess full power and authority over its organization, government and discipline and, to that end, may from time to time establish such disciplinary rules as he or she may deem advisable subject to the approval of the City Council. He or she shall have charge of and be responsible for the apparatus and property furnished by the city to the Department.
