§ 1-4-72 ENTITLEMENT UPON RETIREMENT.
   Any employee who is separated from service for reasons not reflecting discredit on himself or herself shall be entitled on the day of separation to cash compensation for unused vacation leave at his or her base pay at the time of retirement.

§ 1-4-73 PAYMENT FOR UNUSED VACATION.
   Before payment is made for any vacation not actually taken, the City Council shall determine that such payment is necessary in order to prevent an injustice to the employee involved, and shall by resolution authorize such payment. No such payment shall be made to any employee who fails to take his or her vacation at the time allotted by the department head.

§ 1-4-74 DATE OF ANNUAL VACATION.
   The date when an employee’s annual vacation leave shall be granted shall be determined by agreement between each employee and his or her department head with regard to the best interests of the city as well as the best interests of each employee.

   No employee shall receive vacation pay after separation from city service.

SPECIFIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
§ 1-4-90 CITY JUDGE.
   (A)    Election. The City Judge shall be a four-year elected position. Elections shall be held pursuant to the laws of the State of Montana. Any person resident in and a voter registered in Lake County shall be eligible to serve as City Judge, and to continue in office must remain resident in Lake County during the entirety of his or her term of office.
   (B)   Duties. It shall be the duty of the City Judge to attend all mandatory certification training; to keep the docket required by the laws of Montana to be kept by such Court of limited jurisdiction; to hear and determine all cases that may be instituted in the City Court under the laws of city or of the State of Montana; to administer the judicial branch of city government; and to perform all necessary administrative duties.
   (C)   Fines. The City Judge shall collect all fines applicable for violations of city or state laws or ordinances and shall, in the collection and transmittal of such moneys, adhere to such procedures as the city may from time to time, on the advice of its auditors, require.
