§ 73.16 PERMITTING A DRIVER UNDER THE INFLUENCE TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE.
   (A)   No person shall knowingly cause, authorize, or permit a motor vehicle owned by, or under the control of, the person to be driven or operated upon a highway by anyone who is under the influence of alcohol, other drugs, or combination thereof. This provision shall not apply to a spouse of the person who owns or has control of, or a co-owner of, a motor vehicle, or to a bailee for hire.
   (B)   Any person convicted of violating this section shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
