§ 91.32 NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS; REDEMPTION FEE.
   (A)   Whenever a dog is impounded pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter, the city shall give to the dog's owner, if known, notice that the dog has been impounded and the reasons therefore. The notice shall state that the owner has 3 days within which to apply for an appeal as provided in § 91.33. If the owner does not apply for an appeal within the required time, the dog, if a vicious dog, may be humanely killed or, if other than a vicious dog, may be either humanely killed or disposed of to a person agreeing to provide it a suitable home.
   (B)   Where the police officer or animal control officer seizes a dog pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter, the owner of the dog seeking to regain it shall pay a redemption fee as established by the city.
