(A) It shall be the duty of the Clerk-Treasurer to receive all moneys from the Cashier as provided in § 52.006 and all other revenues arising from the operation of the waterworks and keep the revenues in separate and distinct funds as hereinafter designated and all warrants for claims and other indebtedness against the fund shall be signed by the Clerk-Treasurer.
(B) All funds belonging to the waterworks shall be deposited in the regular depository of the city in separate accounts from other city funds and the separate accounts shall be designated:
(1) Waterworks fund;
(2) Meter deposit fund;
(3) Bond and interest redemption fund;
(4) Depreciation fund; and
(5) Such other funds as from time to time may be required.
(C) The Clerk-Treasurer shall also keep appropriate records of the various transactions pertaining to the waterworks including a record of appropriations as the they are made by the Common Council.
(D) The City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office is authorized to accept a credit card or debit card for payment of water / waste water utility bills. In the event of a charge to the city for the use of the credit or debit card payments, the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office is authorized and directed to charge and collect a sum equal to the amount of the charge from the person who uses the credit or debit card for payment of their water / waste water utility bill.
