§ 91.05 BITE CASES AND QUARANTINE.
   (A)   Any animal which bites a person shall be immediately, securely confined and quarantined for a minimum period of ten days. The animal may be quarantined on the owner's premises or in a facility of the owner’s choice at the owner's expense, or impounded at the county facility.
   (B)   Any owner whose animal has bitten a person and keeps such animal on their property shall:
      (1)   Securely confine such animal at all times during the quarantine period.
      (2)   Pay any and all fees for the pathological examination of the animal for rabies and any and all fees for boarding, shipping or other related expenses.
   (C)   Any owner reclaiming an animal placed under quarantine shall provide proof of rabies vaccination.
   (D)   Any person who refuses or fails to comply with the procedures and requirements for the quarantining of their animal shall surrender such animal to any animal control officer or law enforcement officer upon demand and may also be proceeded against for violation of this subchapter.
