9-1-22: WAIVER OF PARKING RESTRICTIONS, NOTICE:
The parking restrictions provided for in this Chapter, particularly the restrictions provided in Section 9-1-4 of this Chapter on all-night parking and in Section 9-1-13 of this Chapter on use of parking lights, may be varied or otherwise waived by the Police Department, where it is determined, upon notification being first given to the Department by the person concerned, that compliance with such restrictions cannot be achieved due to the disability of a particular motor vehicle, or that compliance with such restrictions would constitute an undue hardship or be unreasonably burdensome under the circumstances. (1974 Code)
Where parking has been prohibited at all times on both sides of a residential street in section 9-1-15 of this chapter upon notification being first given to the Police Department by the person concerned, requesting on-street parking, and upon a determination being made by the department that such parking is necessary under the circumstances to accommodate such person concerned, as in the event of a party or meeting, or other gathering where off-street parking facilities are inadequate to service the parking requirements, the Police Department shall allow on-street parking on one (1) side of such public street for such distance and for such period of time as shall be determined and designated by the department as sufficient and necessary to satisfy the parking requirements of the person requesting the same.
