Any person who shall falsely represent, assume, or pretend to be a police officer of the village of River Grove, or a member of the police department of the village, or who shall, with intent to deceive, use or wear in public or imitate any of the signs, signals and devices adopted and used by the police department, or who shall wear in public the uniform or badge adopted or used as the police uniform or badge, or any other which shall be similar in appearance, shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each and every such offense.
