4-18-1: AUTHORITY:
Notwithstanding any provision in this code, or the national codes adopted herein by reference, the Building Official or designee, may issue a stop work order if work on a building, structure, or property is being conducted contrary to the provisions of this code, or in an unsafe and dangerous manner. The stop work order shall be in writing and shall be posted in a conspicuous location on the subject building, structure, or property, and shall also be given to the owner of the property, or to the owner's agent, or to the applicant for the permit (with a copy to the owner), or to the person doing the work, and shall state the conditions under which the work may be resumed.
