The degree of flood protection provided by this chapter is considered reasonable for regulatory purposes and is based on engineering experience and scientific methods of study. This Code does not warrant that areas outside the delineated floodplain or permitted developments within the delineated floodplain will be free from flooding and associated damages. This chapter shall not be construed or applied in any manner to create liability on the part of, or a cause of action against, the Village, or any elected official, officer, agent, or employee thereof, for any damage or injury to person or property resulting from reliance on the provisions of this chapter or from reading or interpreting any map that is part of this chapter.
