3-4-8: RATES:
The Board may, from time to time, establish by ordinance just and reasonable rates and charges, which shall be uniform as to all taxicabs operated within the village. No licensee, whether owner, operator or driver, shall charge, collect or receive greater or less or different rates of compensation for the use of taxicabs than those established herein or fixed hereafter from time to time by ordinance. Every person shall be entitled to the services of taxicabs at the established rates and charges. The following schedule of rates and charges is hereby declared to be just and reasonable, computable according to the distance traveled and the time consumed as indicated by the taximeter attached to each taxicab: (Ord. 2668, 2-12-1996)
 
For the first 2/19 mile or fraction thereof

For each succeeding 2/19 mile or fraction thereof

For each additional passenger over 12 years of age
0.75
For each 36 seconds of waiting time, or fraction thereof

Such waiting time shall include the time beginning five minutes after the call time at the place to which the taxicab has been called, while it is not in motion, and the time consumed while standing at the direction of a passenger. Passengers shall be entitled to the transportation of their ordinary hand baggage without charge.
Every owner or operator of any taxicab business in the village shall pay any judgment or award rendered against such owner or operator by any court or commission of competent jurisdiction which relate to operations in the village within thirty days after such judgment or award shall become final and not appealable. No owner or operator of any taxicab business shall work, or allow to work or employ any person to work as a driver of a taxicab for more than twelve out of any twenty four consecutive hours.
